How to write the chart
- Verse: 1 5 6m 4
- One line per section. The name before the colon is optional. Each chord is one bar. A name on a line of its own (Verse: or [Verse]) makes one section of the lines after it, up to the next name.

- m or - for minor, then 7, maj7, 9, 11, 13, 6, sus2, sus4, add9, dim, aug, ♭9, ♯11.
- IVM7 III7 vim7
- Roman numerals work too: capitals are major, lower case minor. Handy for borrowed chords like III7, which a plain 3 reads as minor.

- Flat or sharp a scale degree. Borrowed chords like b7 and b6 play major.

- Slash chord: the bass plays the second number. Good for walking bass lines down.

- Split bar: both chords share one bar.

- Repeat the line, or repeat the previous bar (the line before's last, at the start of a line).
- Key +1
- On its own line: everything after it moves up a half step. Key +2 is a whole step, Key -1 goes down.
- Intro, Verse, Pre, Chorus, Bridge, Outro
- These names set each section's energy when "Follow section names" is on, and the band arranges itself around them.
- Aメロ · Bメロ · サビ · 主歌 · 副歌 · 후렴
- Japanese, Chinese and Korean section names work too. 落ちサビ (the hushed chorus) drops the band out.

- Left out, like the header lines of a chart pasted from elsewhere (Key: E♭, 4/4, Capo 3, Title: …). A line that starts with a chord like #4m7b5 is still chords.
